Trish Douglas grew up in Georgetown, TX where she was a member of the GHS choral department. After graduation, Trish attended Southwest Texas State University where she attained a Bachelors Degree in Choral Music Education. This year marks Trish Douglas’ 25th year of teaching grades PK - 12. She began her career in Cy-Fair ISD but quickly returned home to Georgetown to start her family. Trish led choirs at GHS from 1996-2002 where her groups received consistent “Sweepstakes” at the UIL Concert and Sightreading contests and even performed at Carnegie Hall! She then instructed at Williams, Village, and Mitchell Elementary before returning to high school at the Ninth Grade Campus in 2009. Mrs. Douglas looks forward to continuing the tradition of excellence of the GISD choral programs at East View High School. Her love of teaching and her level of enthusiasm keeps her going strong! Trish resides in Georgetown and is blessed with her loving husband, Nathan, and two children, Noah and Maddie.
Courtney Neva is the Assistant Choir Director at East View High School. This is Ms. Neva’s eighth year of teaching, and her fifth year as an East View Patriot! Previously, Ms. Neva taught in Austin ISD at Fulmore Middle School and in Clear Creek ISD, in the Houston area, at Clear Lake High School. Ms. Neva is a graduate of Baylor University and has been involved in numerous choral ensembles and music organizations since grade school. At Baylor, she was a member of the A Cappella Choir (where she also served as social chair and president) and Chamber Singers, as well as an officer in the music fraternity, Mu Phi Epsilon. Since her graduation, Ms. Neva has performed with the St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church choir, the St. David’s Episcopal Church Choir, the Amphion Youth Choir (where she also served as a section leader and advisory board member), and the Conspirare Symphonic Choir, all located in Austin, Texas. She is also a member of such professional organizations as the Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Choral Directors Association. Ms. Neva is currently persuing her Master of Music in Choral Conducting at Texas State University in San Marcos, taking classes in the summers.
Ms. Neva is so excited for another year with the students of the East View Patriot Choir program, and is looking forward to joining her BFF, Mrs. Trish Douglas, in continuing the wonderful and reputable musical legacy that has been set forth at East View High School!
